Music Art Dance - The Person Behind the Brand

Music Art Dance - The Person Behind the Brand

Every brand has a creator behind it. That one core persona with inspiration and vision, who stands at the beginning of the pathway. Made in Vagina has one, too. Meet Abba Roland - a multimedia artist, musician and environmentalist.

Abba is the creative director and architect of Circle Park Square a neighborhood focused  project hub and resource portal for what we need as humans to thrive, highlighting brands, and businesses that support recovery and health for our bodies minds and community.

Abbas roots are in the arts starting off as a street musician and performance artist while studying at the Alvin Ailey school of dance and the Arts Students League in New York.

Moving to Europe to study art at Parsons School of Design in Paris Abba worked as a model and performed in the local music clubs, eventually returning to New York to pursue work in Off Broadway and Improvisational Theatre.

Her writing style stretches from avant-garde to power pop with a funky blues edge. She has worked with composers writing in multiple genres for network TV and feature films

Touring with the band "Abba Rage" to promote two albums Abba has shared the stage with The Roots, Sia, Coldplay, Green Day, Bonnie Raitt and many other well-known and not so well known, but brutally talented acts.

After relocating to Philadelphia to focus on raising her twin children Abba created Nowasté Collective while assembling the supports she needed for her family as a single mother.

During that time she worked as a mentor for the Young Entrepreneur Association, Penn State and with students from Temple University.

Connecting with community service professionals that work and live on Philadelphia's frontline of poverty and violence a team of local artists, educators and small business owners came together for regular Nowasté Collective events brainstorming zero waste solutions in Fashion and Art and Health, developing brands that promote hands on community collaboration.

Abba always involves local artists in her projects as part of her production team or opening for her shows. As a member of the recovery and neuro divergent community, and a survivor of physical abuse, she's committed to brands that promote healing.

Now in a Detroit production space Abba is continuing the development of the brands that support community engagement and healing
